Obituary for Peggy Jean Tucker
Peggy Jean Tucker, age 71, died November 27, 2020.
Mrs. Peggy Jean McGown was born to the late Mr. Jessie Butler, Sr. and Ms. Loren Thomas on April 29, 1949 in Proctor, Arkansas. Peggy was called to her heavenly home on Friday, November 27, 2020 in Memphis, TN.
She was educated in the Arkansas school system. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under Rev. Byrd. She later joined First Baptist Church, Bartlett, TN.
She was united in holy matrimony to Maurice Tucker, Sr. on July 9, 1966 in West Memphis, Ark. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. Peggy provided loving childcare for countless children over the years in her home until her untimely death. She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Maurice, of 54 years; one wonderful daughter, Femia Tucker of Memphis, TN; two precious sons, Maurice Tucker, II (April) of Tampa, FL and Greg Tucker of Memphis, TN; two godsons, Daryl Gray and Kelby Hollowell, Sr.; five granddaughters, Jada, Noa and Jaicee Tucker, Kelsy Hollowell and Annaya Davis; two grandsons, Kelby, II and Kolby Hollowell; one sister, Annie S. Butler (Leroy) of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Jessie and Robert Butler of Memphis, TN and Randle Hill (Mary) of Memphis, TN and two sisters preceded her in death, Earless Burns and Murless Pettis; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. A special niece, Jelissa Butler; special great nephew, Messiah Jenkins; and one great grandson, Johnathan Clements. Peggy had countless children and grandchildren in love. Peggy never met a stranger, she showed everyone love.
She is greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
