Act I
(Wonderful Birth)
Matthew was born February 9, 1993 in Chicago, IL to William and Maxine Henderson. Matthew’s early childhood was full of fun. He was a happy child always laughing, playing, and he had a passion for Legos. He proved his artistic talents by building airplanes at the age of five. He was quite an athlete and an actor also. We would always say, “You should be an actor.” Later on in high school, he was known by many of his friends as “Hollywood.”
Act II
(Life Adventures)
Matthew blossomed as a child. From the beginning he was a chatterbox, and also faced life’s situations with a smile. It was his radiant personality, which gave him lasting friendships throughout his life. Also dressed in his favorite color “Red.” His love and personality stood out above many and his many talents also brought him to the limelight. He was also drawing comical caricatures of friends and family members. His athletic ability sored in events such as football, coaching pop warner football, and he especially loved wrestling. He also had talents in jiu-jitsu, weightlifting and acting.
Act III
(Enduring Faith)
Matthew had a strong faith in God. In 2011, he was baptized under Pastor Frank Munsey. He joined the Family Christian Center in Munster, IN. Later, he joined Salem Baptist Church under Pastor James T. Meeks. He remained there until he moved to Medina, TN with his family.
Act IV
(Curtain Call)
After a tenacious battle with cancer, God whispered to Matthew, “My good and faithful servant comes home.” In the loving presence of his family at home, Matthew took his last breath on December 24, 2016. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, William Franklin Henderson; his mother, Maxine Henderson; and his brother, Germaine Henderson. He is also loved and admired by many uncles, aunts, a slew of cousins, and a host of friends.
