Obituaries
Mary Fontia Bean-Edwards was born October 29, 1926, in Hudsonville, Mississippi to the late Ben Bean Sr. and Mary Kinkle-Bean. She was born into a family of eight children. Seven of which preceded her in death, three sisters, Florida Albright, Dorothy Ruth Bean-Oliver, and Olivia Evans: four brothers, Henry, Jake, Joe(Shorty) and Ben (Bunchie) Bean Jr.
With pleasant memories to always cherish, she leaves a devoted son, Joe Edward Bean, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, including nieces, nephews, and an inestimable extended family.
She loved cooking, wearing her big hats, dressing up, laughing, and praying and praising the Lord with her friends and family. Her greatest love in this life (Her “Buddy”) in her voice!
She worked many years for Doctor DeSaussure, The West Clinic, Doctor Kurt, and Anita Tauer.She loved both families with all her heart. She would call their babies her babies!
She met a lot of friends along the way. Just to mention a few loyal, dedicated friends who would call her everyday and made sure she had what she needed: Mrs. Dorothy Franklin, Derba Smith, Mrs. Mable, Mrs. Roxie, Carolyn, Martha Lee, and Shirley Ann Evans.
Her faithful caregivers, Mickeil Gary, her great-nephew, Lorious Currie, her great-granddaughter, Salisa Jones, Gwendolyn Boyd (Pumpkin) and niece Rochelle Bean-Oliver, Michelle Rush. In addition, Carlton Manual and devoted nephew, Anthony Bean. Michael Buford and niece, Phyllis Ann Cobbins.
Her 96 years were filled with prayers, faith in God, and service to others. Even when her health began to fail, she refused to complain and chose to focus on what she could do for others.
