On Thursday, August 26, 2021, Lou Bertha Burnett, loving wife and mother of five children, passed away at the age of 87. Lou was born on June 4th, 1934 as the fifth child to Bill and Minnie (Edwards) Boyd. She was educated in the Coldwater, MS school system and worked diligently upon graduation. On 09 October 1954, she married Willie B. Burnett. They raised three sons, Bobby Earl, Ricky, Larry, and two daughters, Bettie and Gladys. Holding many jobs, Lou B. Burnett retired From Cleo Wrap as an Inspector after 20 years of service.
Lou Bertha had a passion for Christ and accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age. She performed Missionary work for many years and studied Pastorial Administration. She was known for her quick wit, warm smile and compassionate spirit.
Lou Bertha was preceded in death by her mother and father; and sons, Bob, Ricky (Deborah) and Larry; granddaughter Rhoda. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Sam and Bill Boyd; and sister, Effie Mae.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Willie Burnett; daughters, Bettie (Leroy) Campbell and Gladys (Michael) Brown; ten grandchildren, Keisha (Shawn) and Elisha (Kenny) of St. Louis, Mo, Ebony (Johnny) of Arlington, TX, Derrick Walls of Memphis, Jessica of Atlanta, GA, Adrianne (Antonio) Ward of Atlanta, GA, Phillip of Zion, IL, Nneka and Deltario Brown of Florence, SC; one brother, Roosevelt Boyd of Memphis, TN; five sisters, Willie Mae, Alma and Bessie of St. Louis, MO, Millie Ann and Katherine of Memphis, TN; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
