Linda Baker McNamara was born on June 02, 1947 to Mr. and Mrs. Horace Baker in Memphis, TN. Linda walked down the aisle of Whitten Memorial Baptist Church alongside her twin sister, Brenda, to make her profession of faith on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1957 at the tender age of 10. She was a member of Oakland First Baptist Church where she served as Chairman of the Women’s Ministry, Coordinator of the “One by One” Ministry and served on the Prayer Team and Kitchen Ministry, all while participating in the church choir.
True to her profession of faith, Linda devoted her life to serving the Lord by loving her church, family, and friends with all of her heart. She always had a smile, a laugh, a listening ear, and often a word of encouragement for those around her. Her passions included vacationing in the Smokies with family for over 50 years, watching her many nieces and nephews grow, and serving the Lord. Linda also retired from ThyssenKrupp Elevator in 2012 after 32 years of service.
Linda went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2021 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by those who love her. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Linda’s husband of 30 years, Gerald “Robbie” McNamara, her siblings, Sonny and wife, Mary, Baker, Brenda and husband, Leon, Cook, and Donna Botello, along with 12 nephews and 5 nieces, whom she loved dearly, eagerly await the day each will see Linda once again.
