Obituary for Kimberly Scott
Kimberly Scott, 57, died January 17, 2020.
Kimberly Scott was born in Pittsburgh PA on September 15, 1962 where she lived until completing grade school. The family moved to Talmadge, OH where Kimberly completed high school and graduated from Ohio University with a bachelors degree in Communications. Kimberly continued her education at Phoenix University received her Masters in Organizational Management.
Kimberly worked in a variety of positions in the communications field including public television programming both in Washington DC area and Atlanta. After several years in Atlanta, she relocated to Memphis, TN. After working for Shelby County, Kim found her place with the IRS.
Kimberly pursued many interests, e.g., teaching aerobics, and creative cooking like her specialty of Italian food. She enjoyed connecting with her family and friends for girls night out and loved spending time with her family on special outings and at reunions. But her passion was in helping people. She was a very caring person and served in the Sr. Ministry at her home church, St. Andrew AME Church, helping Sr. citizens.
Kimberly endured hardship as a good soldier (2Timothy 2:3). Throughout her time of health challenges, she was cheerful, never complained, conscientious at work, faithful in service and remained hopeful. She had an affection for angels and was affectionately called “angel”.
This angel will be deeply missed by her parents, Gloria Jean and W. Farrell Hayswood, her loving aunt, Charlesetta Parr, and a host of family and friends.
