Obituary for April Bunch
April Renea Bunch, age 36, surrounded by her mother, family and friends, passed away at home on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 12:30 pm. April was born, January 11, 1984 in Memphis, Tennessee at Baptist East Hospital. April graduated from Bartlett High School, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Memphis, and then went on to earn her Master’s in Elementary Leadership & Policies from The University of Texas at Arlington.
April was preceded in death by her father, Bryon E. Bunch, and is survived by her mother, Claudia Ann Bunch, of Memphis, her sister Susan Pruitt (Billy) of Maryville, TN and her brother Ivan Benton of Memphis. She was the aunt to one niece, Chelsey Ellenburg (Jonathon) and three nephews, Vaughn and Drake Benton and Jackson Mills, and one great nephew, Hunter Ellenburg.
April enjoyed playing softball, tailgating and watching her Memphis Tigers play football, cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies and spending countless hours with her family and friends. However, April’s true passions were teaching and her faith in our Lord, which guided the way in which she led her life. She would light up when she spoke about her church and her students whom she would often call her “babies”.
Funeral services for April will be held Saturday, September 12th at 2pm at The Life Church located at 1800 North Germantown Parkway, Cordova, TN 38016.
