Vicki Elaine (Wells) Harris was born in Memphis, TN on September 4, 1962, to Lucille (Wells) Nettles and Albert Wells Jr. (September 20,1989). She is the youngest of seven children: Joe Young, Vester Jackson, Dedward “Reginald” Young (May 12, 2013), Felecia Hill, Obra “Dell” Craft (June 2,2021), and Anthony Wells. She graduated from Central High School in 1980. She is survived by one child, Chasity Harris. She leaves behind her mother, siblings, and a loving extended family.
She began her journey with Christ at Annesdale Cherokee Missionary Baptist Church and continued that journey at Olivet Fellowship Baptist Church. Her life was a true testament to the saying, “It’s a blessing to be a blessing”. Whenever she knew someone was in need, she would do what she could to help. She has been a listening ear, mother figure, and friend to many.
She spent her life in Memphis, TN where she enjoyed going to The Southern Heritage Classic, Africa in April, Memphis in May, and various other festivals throughout the city. She was an avid reader who enjoyed guided devotionals, humorous fiction, biographies, and murder mysteries. Her favorite topics of conversation were sports and family. She remained a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan until the day she died. She worked as a supervisor at Patterson Warehouse for over 20 years. She would be described as tough, but fair. She demonstrated that leadership and caring go hand in hand. She instilled these qualities in her daughter by showing and not telling.
Vicki was a kind and dutiful mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, and leader. She touched and influenced the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and admired her. Her legacy will continue through her loving daughter. Although she is not here physically, we will all cherish the memories we made with her.+
