Obituary for Wyatt Bruns Aiken
Wyatt Bruns Aiken, born on May 10, 1960, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Nov 18, 2016 at 56 years of age.

Born to Dr. David Wyatt Aiken, Sr. and June Rose Aiken, Wyatt grew up in New Orleans. He was the second youngest of six children, and attended Trinity School and then Isidore Newman high school.

Wyatt matriculated at Sewanee, the University of the South, where he met his belovéd wife Tricia. They married shortly after her graduation, and moved back to New Orleans, where he completed his BA in economics at Tulane, and went on to also earn his MBA.

Wyatt and Tricia moved to Memphis in 1983 to take a job with the Trammell Crow Company as a leasing agent. Wyatt spent the next 33 years as a broker in commercial real estate, working with Cushman & Wakefield before co-founding Commercial Tennessee (now Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Advisors). He received numerous awards in the industry, and was inducted into the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) Pinnacle Awards Commercial Hall of Fame.

In addition to being a leader in his industry, Wyatt was a pillar of his community. He and Tricia attended Second Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. He was an Elder of the Church, and served for 6 years on the board of Presbyterian Day School.

He delighted in sailing, singing, guitar, card games, charity work, cigars, great food, and taking his children camping.

Wyatt was a caring son, a loving husband, a devoted friend, a loyal brother, and the most dedicated father. He and Tricia have three beautiful children who will continue his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his father Dr. David Wyatt Aiken, Sr., and is survived by his wife Tricia; his children James (Diana), Rachel, and Philip; his mother June Aiken; his brothers and sisters, John Aiken (Adele), Carolyn Chesnutt, Susan Fonger (Curt), David Aiken, Jr. (Marilyn), Tom Aiken (Christine), and John & Karen Winchester.
