Willie Dean Barnes, 77, died December 9, 2020.
Willie Dean Barnes, affectionately called “Dean” was born in Gary, In. on May 13, 1943 to Clarence and Annie Mae Barnes. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1962. Dean was retired from USX where he worked 40 years as a Steel Roller Supervisor. Dean exchanged life for eternity on December 9, 2020 in Memphis, TN. following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers, Clarence “Bruno” and Tommy “Harpo” Barnes. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Kathy of Memphis, TN., loving children, Deanna, Willie, Jr., and Jason, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Diane (Lee) Hobbs and Marcia Barnes and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dean loved Family and God, he was an active church member at Memphis Christian Center. He worked tirelessly in the church ministry of “Grooming Greatness” where he mentored young men about becoming Great Men of Christ. Dean cherished being a doorkeeper, he loved ushering the Saints into the House of the Lord.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 17th at 11:00 a.m. @ Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View RD. Memphis, TN 38134.
