Tracy Key, Jr. was born March 15, 1935 in Fayette County, TN to late Mamie and Tracy Key, Sr. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Rossville, TN.
Tracy was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Ruth Atwater for 49 years. To this union, they raised three sons and four daughters. And God-Daughter, Loretta Johnson. He was a devoted family man. His home was home, not only to his children, but anyone who needed a place to call home. Tracy worked for the City of Memphis for 45 years and was part of I Am A Man movement with Martin Luther King in 1968, a life changing movement. He also loved to farm and raise animals, and garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tracy Key, Sr. and Mamie Key; his wife, willie Ruth Key; two kids, Thomas Key and Ruth Ann Jones; four sisters and two brothers; one grandson, Jeremy Key; three sons-in law, Junior Boyd, Geno Taylor and Albert Johnson.
Tracy leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Betty Boyd, Robert (Charlotte) Key, Rickey (Betty) Key, Bobbie (Phil) Key-Bruno, Rebecca Key-Taylor and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
