Timothy Davis Blakeney, 56, passed away on August 29, 2024. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, he was deeply cherished by his family and respected by all who knew him.
Born on December 17, 1967, in Laurel, MS, Tim was the second son of Roy and Grace Blakeney. He married Wanda on June 6, 1989, and they welcomed their son, Nicholas (born Bethany Nicole), on October 31, 1994. They also had Sabrina Melki as a chosen daughter.
Tim began his career as an electrician with IBEW Local 480 and later advanced to the nuclear field as an Electrical Technician/Planner. For the past 11 years, Tim worked as a P&C SCADA Technician in the electrical substation industry.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Roy Davis Blakeney, his sister, Grace Michelle Blakeney, and his best four-legged friend, Poof.
He is survived by his mother, Grace Helen Blakeney; loving wife, Wanda Blakeney; his son Nicholas Issac Davis Blakeney (Emma); his brother, Roy Lynn Blakeney (Nancy); his sister, Helen Renee Haines (Bill); and his nephews and nieces: Clayton, Leslie (Alan), Matthew, Jeffrey, Joshua, Kathleen (James), Kimberly (Joseph), Jacob (Kaitlyn), and Krystal (Cameron). He also leaves behind great-nephews and great-nieces Gloria, Kyden, Brayden, Liam, and Yunalesca. Additionally, Tim is survived by his chosen brothers in life, Brandon McEvers (Karla) and Toby Singleton (Christina).
There will be no formal service. Instead of a service, if desired, please consider donating to Youth in Transition, a charity dedicated to helping youth that is aging out of the foster system, or to Saint Jude’s Hospital, a privately funded children’s hospital.
