Obituary for Ted Lee Young
Our friend and family member, Ted Lee Young was called to his Heavenly home on March 15th, 2021 at Methodist University Hospital.
Ted Young was born in Millington, TN to Jewel and Joyce Young. He was the first born of 3 children, followed by his brother, Roger and sister, Patsy.
Ted graduated from West Side High School where he met his future wife, Wanda, on a church hayride. They married soon after graduating high school and remained together for almost 50 years.
Ted accepted Christ into his life at age 20 years old and was an active member of Dellwood Baptist Church. Where he served as head of the House and Grounds Committee. He later joined Raleigh Assembly of God.
Ted retired from Memphis Light Gas & Water after 30 years of service where he obtained his Master Gas License. Upon retiring he used his license to open Gas Specialists Inc. along with his wife and 3 other retirees. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, playing baseball and softball.
Ted is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Gerald (Lori) and Shellee; grandchildren, Meghan (Silvester), Connor, Zachary, and Samuel; brother, Roger; and sister, Patsy, along with extended family and friends.
