Changing Tides —A Poem by TyLeah Dickerson

I'm tired of drowning
As the tides creep over us
Consuming us
We'll run out of air soon
So it may seem
It may even be that we have to hold our breath a little while
Then we'll all have to let out a huge exhale
Knowing his exhaustion and pain is over
He's at peace now, he can rest... 12/16/20

Song 77
In these days, dark and lawless days, shines a light we can see.
Like the dawn of another day that will soon come to be.
Shining through the darkness, it was a message so bright.
It offers hope and light —-
Sparkling like the daylight, bringing tomorrow in sight—- so ends the night. Those who sleep need awakening as the time abs away.
We give hope and encouragement.
For their future we’ll pray.
(Chorus) Shining through the darkness,
ours is a message so bright.
It offers hope and light—-
Sparkling like the daylight, bringing tomorrow in sight,
So ends the night.

John 3:19
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
8:12
12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Rom. 13:11, 12
11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

1 Peter 2:9
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Psalms 37:10, 12
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy peace and prosperity.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;

John 5:28, 29
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.

Revelation 21:3
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
