Mrs. Sokhon Meas was born in Takeo, Cambodia into a family of 10 children. She came to Seattle, WA in 1981 and later moved to Memphis, TN. She worked tirelessly as a seamstress to provide for her child, Dawnie. Her conversations with others were full of joy when speaking of her love and affection for her three grandchildren. She was a very strong, independent woman who spent her early years as a seamstress. She was an excellent cook and always cooking for everyone especially for Sam. She continued to cook for him even in her wheelchair making sure he had a hot meal daily. She taught us to always do the right thing and you will never have to worry about what others will think of you. Her legacy of love and dedication continues to live in the hearts of those she leaves behind: daughter, Dawnie Phann; son-in-law, Frank Phann; three grandchildren, Christian, Johnathan, and Maranie (Teeda); adopted son, Sam Keo; brother, Robert Meas; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Meas; two nieces, Malinda and Sothavy Meas; nephew, Richard Meas; two more sisters and lots of nieces and nephews in Cambodia; other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly. Her battle is over no more tears, no more pain, no more suffering, and no more weakness. God has healed her in heaven.
