Sandra Gail Swindler Vinsant, age 77, passed away on January 9, 2025 at her residence in Memphis, TN.
Gail was born on August 8, 1948 to the late Arthur Newton Swindler and Marguerite Irene Milam Swindler in Memphis, TN.
She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN where she met the love of her life and husband of 47 years, Charles (“Chuck”) Sidney Vinsant. She had a long career as a Certified Public Accountant including employment with banks and private businesses and as the owner of her own accounting practice in Knoxville, TN. She loved trivia, the Beatles, and enjoyed traveling and gatherings with friends. A connoisseur of wine, she and Chuck were knights in the Cross of Burgundy wine appreciation club. She was an active member of the Lhasa Apso Southern Rescue for many years and enjoyed spending time and walking her puppies.
She leaves behind two step-children, Charles Ralston (“Ross”) Vinsant of Spartanburg, SC, and Angelia (“Angie”) Kaye Vinsant Fitts (Walt) of Sardis, MS; sister Helen Ruth Swindler of Memphis, TN; sister Paula Jean Peifer (Curtis); two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her husband, Chuck, parents, and brother William Arthur (“Bubba”) Swindler that preceded her in death in 2018.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
