Ruthie Lee (Patterson) Price departed this life on June 8, 2025, at the age of 77, in her beloved hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Born on June 18, 1947, Ruthie was full of love and strength, whose legacy will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched.
Ruthie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She leaves behind her husband Jesse Price; her loving children: Joseph Price, Shawn Price and Christopher Price (Desiree), Wanda Price (step), Debbie Price (step), and Randy Price (step); and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Ruthie’s heart and faith in God were a guiding light for her family throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her dear brother, Larry Patterson, and her cherished children, Warren "Terry" Austin and Shenice Price, Ruthie’s life was filled with both joy and profound loss. Those who knew her understood the deep wells of love she held for her family, which were only deepened through her experiences.
Ruthie graduated from the University of Memphis, where she laid the foundation for a career in education. As a dedicated teacher, she inspired countless students, fostering their love for learning and helping them realize their potential.
As a long time and devoted member of the Prayer House of Deliverance Church, Ruthie found strength and peace in Jesus. She enjoyed being involved in church, where her compassion and commitment to service resonated with fellow members. Ruthie’s spirit of love and her unwavering faith made her a pillar of strength within her church family.
In her personal life, Ruthie was known for her exceptional skills in sewing and cooking. Whether it was crafting beautiful garments or preparing delicious meals for family gatherings, her creativity and culinary talents brought joy to those around her. Her home was a warm haven filled with the aromas of her favorite dishes, where family and friends gathered to share laughter and love.
As we remember Ruthie Lee (Patterson) Price, let us honor her memory by embracing the love she gave so freely and by carrying forward her legacy of compassion, faith, and resilience. Though she has departed from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
