Obituaries
Paul Andrew Reynolds, Sr., the youngest of eight children born to the late Percine Reynolds and the late Julia Reynolds, was born April 26, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a lifelong Memphian.
Paul was a proud member of the Orange Mound Community and graduated in 1975 from Melrose High School. He accepted numerous employment opportunities throughout his adulthood and was most recently employed by the FedEx Corporation.
Raised in a Christian household, Paul, in his early years, accepted Jesus Christ’s Lordship over his life. He was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Orange Mound, pastored by The Rev. Dr. James E. Delaney.
Paul was an avid sports fan. Whenever possible, he loved attending sports games in-person. He was a staunch supporter of the University of Memphis Tigers and the Memphis Grizzlies. His favorite professional football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was never too busy to discuss the performance, latest statistics, and potential of his favorite players.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Paul L “Li’l Paul” Reynolds, Jr; three brothers, Robert Reynolds, Len Earl “Ba” Reynolds, and Allen Reynolds, in addition to his longtime devoted special friend, Elma Ramona “Mona” Wooten.
Paul departed this life on October 17, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Antonio Walton; one daughter, Tekita Herron; three sisters, Julia (Johnny) Brumley, Dorothy McKinney, and Segretta Sims; three brothers, Curtis (Cynthia) Reynolds, Percelle (Beverly) “Bubba” Reynolds, and Dennis (Barbara) Reynolds, along with a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives, and friends.
Quiet, laid-back, and sensitive, Paul was loyal to his family and his friends. His presence will be sorely missed.
