Obituary for McArthur Smith
McArthur D. Smith Mac - Died October 8, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, after 71 years of a full and eventful life. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years, Sonja Taylor Smith; 3 sons: Markus Smith (Wendy), Brian Smith (Keisha) , Randall Smith (Robin) ; 8 grandchildren ; 1 brother, Wm. Bill Smith; and other close relatives and friends. He was a 1960 graduate of Manassas High School and Tennessee State University. His career touched many TN youth as a State Probation Counselor. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013; 11 a.m. at Brown Missionary Baptist Church, located at 980 Stateline Rd. E., Southaven, MS. Burial will follow at National Veterans Cemetery, off Jackson and National Ave. The family will receive friends (wake) Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, from 4-6 PM at the Harold Ford Funeral Chapel, 1638 Sycamore View Rd., Memphis, TN 38134.
