Obituaries
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J.C. Bachus, where she served as an usher and was a faithful member of her Sunday School Class.
She will be remembered as a strong woman, a devoted mother and a loving grandmother. She loved God, her children, the St. Mark Church family. She will be remembered for her quick wit, stern but loving looks and kind heart. She extended helping hand to anyone. She was funny, animated, and honest, sometimes brutally honest. It’s what we loved most. She loved her grandchildren and had her own special relationship with each of them. She was grandma to some and Getti to others. She was very proud of her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, attending church services, banquets, dining out and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Hattie Mae; three siblings, Clara, Earl and Willie; and grandson, Myles.
She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy 5 daughters, Sarah (Dolly), Kathleen, Debra, Terri and Stephanie (Germaine); one son, Joe; and very special granddaughter, Marilyn, all of Memphis Tennessee. Also, to cherish her memory, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary Louise Cox was loved and will always be loved.
