Lela Mae Gilliam was born on April 8th, 1938 in Tillatoba, Mississippi. She was the 12th of twelve children born to Wiley and Ozella Woodall who preceded her in death. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and later move to Memphis, TN where she held various jobs but was mostly a homemaker.
She was united in holy matrimony to AV Gilliam and to this union they had 4 children and she had 3 children before this marriage.
Lela was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, AV Gilliam and 11 of her 12 brothers and sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 4 sons and 2 daughters, James Carr (Cynthia) of Texas, Dorothy Bell of Memphis, Benjamin Woodall of Memphis, Bobby Gilliam (Sonya) of Memphis, Linda Gilliam of Memphis, Henry Gilliam (Debbie) of Memphis; 1 sister, Eva Loveling of Marion, AR; 11 other siblings wo preceded her in death; grandchildren, Tiwan Beauregard, Almisha J. Woods, Anastasia Phillips, Astridjasia Mathes, Henry Dickson, Devon/Christopher/Quentin O’Neal and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
