Kevin Simpson, 65, died November 6, 2022.
On Sunday, November 6, 2022, Kevin Simpson, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 65 years surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on November 25, 1956, to Jerome and Verleece (White) Simpson of Prince Georges County, Maryland, Kevin grew up playing football, even pursuing the sport in college. He was the third child of five and the second oldest boy. Kevin graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army through The Johns Hopkins University. Kevin, an Airborne Ranger with a fierce intellect and a fondness for military strategy, was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving 12 years, achieving the rank of Captain.
Kevin was married to his former wife, Karen Simpson Madlock (William David) for 20 years, and to this union three children were born, Dominic C. Bradley of New York, New York; Stephan A. Simpson of Memphis, Tennessee; and Lauren A. Simpson of Memphis, Tennessee. His children fondly remember him as an indiscriminate giver of hugs and kisses. Kevin was known to all as a humorist, candy lover and charmer. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Verleece Simpson, his siblings, Jerome J. Simpson, and Laurie Simpson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his siblings, Sherleece Simpson Anderson and Ramon Simpson of Hyattsville, Maryland. Kevin is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Kevin was a caring and giving person; he continued that in death through the gift of organ donation.
