Kevin Antonio Martinez Reyes was born on June 29, 2000, in Honduras to Fabio Antonio Martinez and Maria Isabel Reyez Cruz. He was welcomed into the world around 6 in the evening, on a beautiful day at home, surrounded by family and love, with the help of a surrogate. From his first moments, Kevin was a light in the lives of those around him.
He passed away on June 8, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 24.
Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Maria Isabel, and his father, Fabio Antonio. He had two sisters, Karla Isabel and Roxanna Maribel, and a brother, Rigoberto Santiago Reyes, who, though not related by blood, was family in every way. Kevin’s mother brought Rigoberto into their home and raised him as her own, and Kevin loved him as a true brother.
Kevin was a devoted father of two. His first child, Kevin Jadiel Santos, was born on January 10, 2018, to Steisy Santos. Even before learning the baby's gender, Kevin had already picked out a name and bought clothes — he just knew. That deep connection carried into everything he did as a father. His second child, Gissel Martinez Calderon, was born on July 2, 2023.
Kevin attended Wooddale High School in Memphis. He left school early when he became a father, choosing instead to focus on supporting his growing family — a responsibility he took seriously and with pride. He worked tirelessly as a handyman and was exceptionally skilled in carpentry, painting, roofing, electrical work, demolition, landscaping, and plumbing. Though he never earned a formal certificate, his intelligence, work ethic, and experience made him a true master of his craft.
Those who knew Kevin will remember his light brown eyes, which turned to honey in the sun, and his sweet, welcoming smile. He had an easy, friendly charm and was known for being a bit of a Casanova — something his family often teased him about. But beneath that charm was a deep respect for women. He often said that women were the greatest blessing in the world, and he always called his mother the most beautiful woman of all. His love and admiration for her were unmatched.
Kevin was also deeply close to his aunt, Rosa Martinez, who helped raise him and was like a second mother. She never hesitated to cook his favorite dishes — seafood soup, el pollo con tajadas, los aguachiles, oysters, and flour tortillas — even when he called with last-minute cravings. To her, Kevin was her baby, and he never forgot her love. He loved being cooked for, but he also loved cooking for others. Nearly every morning, he would wake his mother with breakfast — a small but beautiful gesture of love and gratitude.
On June 23, 2025, Kevin was laid to rest in his homeland of Honduras, surrounded once again by family and the place where his life began.
Kevin’s time on earth was far too short, but he lived it with purpose, love, and a deep devotion to his family. His legacy will live on in his children, in the lives he touched, and in the memories that those who loved him will hold forever.
He is deeply loved. He is deeply missed. And he will never be forgotten.

Kevin deja atrás a su madre amorosa, María Isabel, y a su padre, Fabio Antonio. Tenía dos hermanas, Karla Isabel y Roxanna Maribel, y un hermano, Rigoberto Santiago Reyes, quien, aunque no era su hermano de sangre, fue familia en todos los sentidos. La madre de Kevin acogió a Rigoberto en su hogar y lo crió como a un hijo más, y Kevin lo quiso como a un verdadero hermano.
Kevin fue un padre dedicado de dos hijos. Su primer hijo, Kevin Jadiel Santos, nació el 10 de enero de 2018, fruto de su relación con Steisy Santos. Incluso antes de saber el sexo del bebé, Kevin ya había elegido el nombre y comprado ropa, siguiendo una corazonada que más tarde fue confirmada. Su segunda hija, Gissel Martinez Calderón, nació el 2 de julio de 2023.
Asistió a la escuela secundaria Wooddale en Memphis, pero no pudo terminar sus estudios, ya que asumió con responsabilidad su papel como padre joven. Se dedicó de lleno a apoyar a su familia, con orgullo y compromiso. Trabajó incansablemente como hombre de oficios múltiples, destacándose en carpintería, pintura, techado, electricidad, demolición, jardinería y plomería. Aunque no tenía certificados oficiales, su inteligencia, esfuerzo y experiencia lo convirtieron en un verdadero experto en lo que hacía.
Quienes conocieron a Kevin lo recordarán por sus ojos color miel, que brillaban con la luz del sol, y por su dulce sonrisa y actitud amable. Era una persona sociable, carismática y muy querido. Su familia solía bromear y decir que era un verdadero “Casanova”. Pero más allá del encanto, Kevin tenía un profundo respeto por las mujeres. Solía decir que las mujeres eran la mayor bendición del mundo, y que la más hermosa de todas era su madre. Su amor por ella era inmenso e incondicional.
Kevin también tuvo una relación muy especial con su tía, Rosa Martinez, quien fue como una segunda madre para él. Cuando se le antojaban tortillas, ella era la primera en saberlo. Y aunque no siempre tuviera ganas de cocinar, le preparaba su sopa de mariscos favorita porque, como ella decía, "ese era su niño". Le encantaban las tortillas de harina, el pollo con tajadas, los aguachiles, los mariscos y los ostiones. No solo le gustaba que le cocinaran, sino que él también cocinaba para los que amaba. Casi todas las mañanas, despertaba a su mamá con el desayuno, un gesto sencillo pero lleno de amor.
El 23 de junio de 2025, Kevin fue sepultado en su tierra natal, Honduras, rodeado nuevamente por su familia y el lugar que lo vio nacer.
La vida de Kevin fue corta, pero estuvo llena de amor, trabajo, alegría y entrega a su familia. Su legado vivirá en sus hijos, en todos los que lo conocieron, y en los recuerdos que permanecerán por siempre en los corazones de quienes lo amaron.
Lo amamos profundamente. Lo extrañamos con el alma. Y jamás será olvidado.
