Obituary for Joyce Stanley
Joyce Stanley, 56, died November 7, 2020.
Joyce Ann Stanley, 56, of Bartlett, TN, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2020. She was born to parents Dorothy Stanley and Harry Stanley on November 12, 1963, in Schlater, MS.
Ms. Stanley graduated from Amanda Elzy High School with honors in 1981. During her Panther years, she broke records on the track field and played basketball as a starting Guard from 1978-1981. Her athleticism extended to the softball field, where she was an integral part of the Rising Sun Girls Softball Team.
Ms. Stanley went on to study Mass Communications. She last worked as a Program Director for The Behavioral Medical Group until July of this year.
She enjoyed roller skating, reading an enjoyable book, mentally stimulating word games, decoding puzzles, decorating, and perfecting unsightly things. Ms. Stanley was honored with numerous Certificates of Excellence and Ribbons for Academic Distinction, Athletics, and Professional Achievements.
She is survived by Harry (Loretta) Stanley, brother; Bonnie Archie, sister; Bobby (Gwendolyn) Stanley, brother; Vivian (Charlie) Lewis, sister; and Sherri L. Stanley, sister.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
