Ms. Irene Deaner was born on September 23,1946 to Roger and Florine Brunson in Laws Hill, Mississippi. Later in life, her family moved to Memphis, TN. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, God looked down on his precious child, Irene Deaner, and saw that she was weary, tired and needed rest. He gently called her name and she answered.
She married Henry Deaner and to this union, five children were born, Michael Deaner, Jernice Deaner, Donald Deaner, Patricia Deaner and Alexis Deaner. She was a loving mother and helped raise eight grandchildren after the death of her youngest daughter, Patricia Deaner.
Irene was enthusiastic about life. She enjoyed cooking new recipes, preparing and sharing food with family and friends. Her home was referred to as the family ‘watering hole’.
Irene was highly intelligent and well spoken. She accomplished each of her professional and personal goals. During her lifetime, she was a trained Cosmetologist, a trained Computer Specialist, and a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 25 years. She was a self-taught baker, a highly skilled cook, a seamstress and curtain maker. She loved to plant vegetables and take care of her roses.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jernice Deaner of Memphis, TN., and three sons, Michael Deaner of Killeen, TX, Donald Deaner and Alexis Deaner of Memphis, TN; 16 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Miller of Holly Springs, MS, and Ira Miller of Fayetteville, GA; two brothers, Walter Brunson and Glenn Brunson, both of Memphis, TN.
