Obituary for Hertesenia Knox Thomas
Hertesenia Knox Thomas, 80, died January 15, 2020.
Hertesenia Knox Thomas “Debbie” was born to the late Fred and Leola Knox on August 3, 1939 in Lampkin, MS.
She confesses Jesus Christ at an early age and later join Koinonia Christian Center under the leadership of Apostle Cedric Taylor.
Debbie graduated from Gentry High School in Indianola,MS. After leaving Mississippi she moved to Chicago, IL and started nursing school at Northwestern University where she received her degree in respiratory therapy. She started her career at Evanston Hospital and Rush Presbyterian Saint Luke Hospital in Chicago, IL and furthered her career into retirement as a respiratory therapist at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN in 1996. After retirement, Debbie worked several years with her brothers at Memphis Carriers.
Debbie united in holy matrimony to Willie “W.T.” Thomas who has proceeded her in death.
On January 15, 2020, God called his beloved daughter to her eternal home surrounded by family.
Debbie was blessed with a large family. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Gordan Thomas (deceased), Warren Thomas (Beatrice), and Daphne Thomas; her grandchildren, Gerren Faulkner, Seville McKinnon (Javon), Deevin Mosley, Juwan Thomas, Savaghnna Hines-Growe; her great-grandchildren, Zion Mosley, Javon McKinnon II, and Skyler McKinnon; her siblings, Freddie Mae Hines(deceased) (A.L), James Knox (deceased) (Rosa), Floyd Knox (deceased) (Gladys), Mary Lee Knox (deceased), Juanita Thomas, Sarah Roach (Donald, deceased), Fred Knox Jr, ( Sandy), Flora Coleman(Dexter, deceased), Rochelle Knox (Linda), David Knox ( Frankie), Shelia Knox( deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
