Henry Lee Heard Sr., born November 15, 1962, born to Mr. Sammie Scott and the late Annie Louise Heard.
Henry attended Memphis City schools, graduating from East High School in the early 80’s. On March 6, 1984, Henry joined the US Army where he served for many years. During his tour, Henry met the love of his life, Ms. Annie Smith, who later became Ms. Annie Heard and from their union came their son Henry Lee Heard Jr.
Henry was a sweet, spirited person who was generous and patient, those that knew him knew he was humble and not quick to anger. He will be truly missed by family and friends.
Henry departed this life on December 19, 2024; he leaves to cherish his memories, his son Henry L. Heard Jr., and grandson Henry L. Heard III, a adopted daughter Tamica Smith and grand-daughter Bindyia Scott of Georgia, brothers; Anthony L. Heard (Lorraine), Joseph A. Barksdale, Eddie L. Bailey of Memphis, James Burkley (Cheryl) of Boliver, and Remarco Pittman of Detroit, MI., sisters; Lois J. Strickland (Fred), Sandra Smith (Sylvester) of Memphis, Sandria Scott and Evon Williams of Detroit, MI., two uncles George Heard (Jerlene) and Donald Heard of Memphis, one aunt Mattie Hullom of Memphis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special friend, Ms. Annie Lee Smith (mother-in-law). He was preceded in death by his brothers John Bailey and Charlie M. Peterson.
