Gloria Spencer, Age 72, Died December 29, 2023.
Mrs. Gloria Jean Spencer was born March 4, 1951 in Memphis, TN to Elroy Phillips and Josephine Reed Phillips, who preceded her in death.
She departed this life on December 29, 2023.
She joined in holy matrimony with Robert Lee Spencer and embraced 47 years of marriage.
Gloria was a graduate of Manassas High School and a proud employee of Regional One Hospital (The Med) for 30 years in the Human Resources/Personnel Department before her retirement.
She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Bishop Howard of Morris Temple Church of God in Christ.
Jean served the Lord faithfully, stayed the course and did tremendous ministry work until her departure from this earth.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving husband, Robert Lee Spencer, one son Eric Spencer, one daughter Nicole Simpson (Michael) and three grandchildren Nile Simpson, Elise Simpson and Sophia Simpson.
Three sisters Martha Jean Woods, Mary Parham (Sylvester), Janie Spencer: two brothers Robert Earl Phillips (Jessie), Willie James Phillips (Glenda) and late siblings Freida Strong, Freddie Phillips and Elroy Phillips, Jr.
Two sisters-in-law Betty Steele and Marcella Sawyer(Robert), brother-in-law Charles Edward Spencer and late brother-in-law Willie James Spencer.
Special friend Brenda Roberts (James) and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Gloria's favorite scriptures:
Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him I trust.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
