Diane Loree Hayes was born January 14, 1942 in Kansas City Kansas. Her parents were Dan and Ruby Hayes. She was the oldest of three children from this union.

Diane was a very studious person and loved learning new things. She earned her Bachelor of

Arts from Mundelein College in Chicago, IL and further attended Keller Graduate School of Management to receive a Master degree of Business Administration.

Diane started working at Illinois Bell and moved up the corporate ladder with each company merger. She worked with Engineers developing logistic plans and also traveled around the country training other employees when the company became AT&T. She retired on January 1st, 1999. She then relocated to Hot Springs Village Arkansas where she loved taking long walks and enjoyed the peacefulness of nature. She continued her career during retirement at a local radio station featuring Country Music along with other genres. She challenged all with daily trivia. She moved to Memphis in 2022 and she died on November 1, 2025 at the home of Tamara and Adrian Brown in Memphis, TN.

Diane is survived by her brother Dan Hayes Jr. of Joliet IL along with step relatives Micah Hayes and Kimberly Newman both of Kansas City, MO., nephews Christopher Hayes of Phoenix AZ, Terry Robinson Sr. of Las Vegas, NV., Jeffery (Monday) Robinson and niece Nicole Hemphill both of Kansas City, MO. Additionally, she leaves to cherish her memory, her cousins Claudine Ford, Anthony Bolden and Tamara (Adrian) Brown, along with an extended family of cousins.

Diane loved her immediate and extended family and never missed a family reunion. She took great delight in planning parties, but especially PLB family reunions along with her cousins. She particularly enjoyed organizing and developing clever get acquainted games to play at every reunion or family gathering. These games were a huge hit and allowed family members to get to know each other, especially newly invited friends or family. She would research the family tree with great enthusiasm.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Ruby Hayes, her brother Steve Hayes and half-sister Barbara Robinson.
