Demetress Ward, 51, died February 15, 2019.
Mrs. Demetress Ward was born to Catherine and Henry “Dillie” Johnson on June 2, 1967 in Olive Branch, MS. She departed this life February 15, 2019 at Methodist South Hospital. Demetress was known for helping and lending a hand to everyone, even to others she didn’t know. To know Demetress was to love her, she was a warm heartfelt woman that loved God. Demetress confessed her life to Christ at the age of 40 at Victory in Christ Christian Church where she worshipped until she became ill under the leadership of Melvin and Linda Jones. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids; she was all about her family. Demetress was a faithful employee for TJMaxx at Park for ten plus years. She resigned due to her health.
Demetress leaves to mourn her husband of 31 years, Alonzo Ward Sr.; five daughters, Dominique, Catherine, Arianna, Precious, and Melbia; three sons, Alonzo Jr, Haywood, and Tedrick; eight grandchildren, Ahkeem, Amir, Sammie, Janiya, Landon, Alonna, Jadia, Ronald; six sisters, Flossie, EraB, Dorothy, Carolyn, Pamela (Jerold), Andrea (Johnny); ten brothers, Dale, Curtis, Christopher, Darren, Claudy, Maurice (Renee), Anthony, Reginald (Dorothy), Isaac; and a host of other family and friends.
