Obituary for Betty Berryhill
Betty Berryhill, age 64, passed away on November 13, 2014.
Betty Jean Berryhill was born February 2, 1950 to Reverend Chester L. Berryhill, Sr. and Janie L. Berryhill in Memphis, Tennessee.
Betty graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and later graduated from Draughons Business College, and attended Memphis State University. She recently retired as a supervisor from the State of Tennessee Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (40 years of service) and was currently employed at FedEx (29 years of service).
Betty is survived by two daughters; one son-in-law, (who she always viewed as a son) Tamil and Roland McGoodwin of Atlanta, GA, Anika Berryhill of Memphis, TN; grandchildren - Matthew McKnight, Carson McGoodwin, Myles Berryhill and Hannah Watson. She is also survived by her father, Reverend Chester L. and Janie L. Berryhill; her siblings: Gloria Stein Rochon, Johnny Berryhill, Chester L. Berryhill, Jr. (Vivian), Linda Fryer (Dwight), Rickie L. Berryhill (Sharlene), Carolyn Benson, and Anthony Berryhill (Toni). She also leaves behind two uncles, Johnny and James Woodard; aunt, Louise Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View Rd., Memphis, TN 38134. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 7289 Hwy. 64, Memphis, TN 38134. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
