A.D. Nelson, 88, died November 8, 2022.
A.D. Nelson was born January 25, 1934 in Millington , TN. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Willie Nelson and Erma Sue Greenleaf. .
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized as an adult. After
attending E.A. Harrell School In 1957, he united in Holy Matrimony to Helen, who
preceded him in death in August 2021. For several years they lived in Millington, TN.
Eventually they moved to Memphis, TN, where he worked at Roadway Trucking
Company for 35 years then he retired.
A.D. Nelson joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, and later moved his
membership to Grace Bible Baptist Church. Where he served as a faithful member.
A.D. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his wife dearly.
Regardless of his illness, he never forgot his love for Helen and their marriage of 64
years.
He departed this life, November 8, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Covington, TN. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his daughters, Sandra
Brown(Greg, deceased), Paula Mays (Wayne), Toya Johnson(David), son Anthony
Phillips, and Sister-in-Law, Cherry Greenleaf (Vernon, deceased). He loved his
grandchildren. He leaves behind nine granddaughters, three grandsons, ten
great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A.D. was preceded in death two sisters and a brother; Magnolia Steward, Erma Lee Robinson
and Vernon Greenleaf
