Obituary for Ruthie Mae Funchess Tillman
Ruthie Mae Funchess Tillman, 66, died August 2, 2018.
Ruthie Mae Funchess-Tillman, 62, quietly returned to her heavenly home on August 2, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Ruthie was born to the union of the late Albert and Mary Elizabeth Gue, in Crystal Springs, MS on May 30, 1952. She received a formal education from the Crystal Springs Public School System. Af-ter graduation, she later relocated with her family to Memphis, TN. While there, she became em-ployed as a Housekeeper until she retired. She resided in Memphis, TN until her recent transition.
Ruthie was blessed with a small, but strong and loving family. She united in Matrimony to O. C. Tillman in Crystal Springs, MS. To this union, 3 wonderful children were born. Ruthie was very kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to spend with her family. She will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Elizabeth Gue. Ruthie is survived by her husband, O.C. Tillman; her only daughter Felicia (Charles) Walker of Memphis, TN; her sons, Dan-ny (Latoya) Tillman Sr. of Oxford, MS and Cornelius “Snooty” Tillman of Memphis, TN. Her 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grand child, and a host of close friends and other relatives.
